OHS Again Named Apple Distinguished School

Feb 1, 2023 (0)

O'Neill Junior-Senior High School is pleased to announce that it has once again been designated as an Apple Distinguished School for their continuous innovation in learning, teaching and the school environment. The junior-senior high school has been honored with the distinction as an Apple Distinguished School since 2010.

O'Neill's 24/7 Learning Initiative, which gives every student equal access to a MacBook Air laptop, has led the way in educational technology for 15 years. The initiative continues to be led by a team of teachers who all inspire to do the best they can to engage, and challenge students in a world that leads with technology.

High School Principal Will Wragge praised the entire school for their continued dedication to utilizing Apple technology in the classroom. Students and teachers continue to push themselves with technology in innovative ways. The 1:1 initiative started here more than 15 years ago is strong and has become a part of the culture of this school. Students are the beneficiaries and will be able to take the skills learned in school with them and benefit their community. Technology and problem-solving skills gained here on a daily basis will serve them well for a future that's filled with fast-paced changing technological advances. Students here are luckier than they can ever know.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use Apple products to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching, and the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishments.

With the recent pandemic, O'Neill Junior Senior High School was well prepared to continue educating students through the variety of challenges that arose during the pandemic. O'Neill's 24/7 Learning initiative allowed OHS to continue to thrive during the pandemic. This would not have been possible without the continued support of district stake holders and community support.
