Call to Order

The regular board meeting of the O'Neill Public School Board of Education was called to order by President Amy Jo Rowse at 7:30 pm, on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Administrative Offices at 635 North 4th Street, O'Neill, Nebraska.

Heather Larsen, representing Little Tots Daycare, inquired about insurance coverage for providers while seeing clients at the Little Tots Daycare location.

Developing Eagles Program

A motion to suspend the summer Developing Eagles program and retain the after-school program pending hiring enough staff, passed with a motion made by Coby Welke and seconded by Aaron Sorensen.

• O'Neill Booster Club Update

Lori Mathews, O'Neill Booster Club President, presented the annual update to the board. No action is necessary.

• Shot Put & Discus Upgrades

Mr. Cole Hilker, Boys Head Track Coach, presented to the board a proposal to upgrade the shot put and discus areas at the track complex. Mr. Rotherham recommended that the Building and Grounds Committee meet with the track coaches, Mr. Larsen, and himself to discuss the upgrade proposal. It was also suggested to consider inviting a representative from St. Mary's to attend. No action is necessary.

Co-op Agreements

A motion to co-op with St. Mary's for instrumental music, girls and boys golf, girls and boys cross country, and softball, passed with amotion made by Coby Welke and seconded by Mark Thompson.

2025-2026 Calendar Update

Due to our school hosting District FCCLA on Wednesday, October 15th, we will switch the October 23rd Staff Development Day to October 15th instead. October 23rd will now be a regular day for students and staff.

President Amy Jo Rowse opened a public hearing at 8:27 pm to receive input, discuss, and consider any changes to the Parent & Guardian Involvement in Educational Practices Policy. After receiving public comment, President Rowse closed the hearing at 8:33 pm.
