Connie A. Frick

Connie A. (Menkens) Frick, age 72, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Nov. 1, 2012, with her family at her side at Baton Rouge Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

Memorial services were held on Nov. 5, 2012, at the Chapel of the Oaks in Baton Rouge, LA.

Burial was in Resthaven Garden of Memory in Baton Rouge, LA.

Connie was born May 23, 1940, to George Paul and LaVerne Menkens near Bloomfield. She grew up and attended school in rural Holt County and Inman.

She married Dean Frick on Nov. 20, 1960. Being a military man they lived in many places: California, Washington, Hawaii, Taiwan, Rhode Island and Louisiana. After retirement, Baton Rouge, LA, and Niobrara became home.

She was a loving wife for 52 years to Dean and also a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by her eight grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

Connie is survived and will be missed by her husband, Dean; three daughters, Michele (Carl) Zander, Las Vegas, NV, Nadine (Barrett) Benton and Sarah (Jeff) Odom, all of Baton Rouge, LA; eight grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jim (Janet) Menkens, Springfield, MO, Jan (Leo) Tyrrell, Running Water, SD, Jerry (Jan) Menkens, Verdigre, Lynn (Jim) Henderson, Niobrara and Bruce (Ellen) Menkens, Bonesteel, SD; brother-in-law, Wayne (Alice) Frick; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George P. and LaVerne Menkens and a baby brother.

"Her children will rise up and bless her, her husband also and he praises her saying many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all." Proverbs: 31:28. 

"An excellent wife is the crown of her husband." Proverbs: 12:4.
