Allen Ray Knight

Allen Ray Knight, age 84, of Page, passed away Wednesday night, April 3, 2013, at his home in Page.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Page United Methodist Church in Page.  

The family held a private inurnment on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Walnut Grove (Grimton) Cemetery. 

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Allen was born on Dec. 8, 1928, in Walnut, to Fora Lavern and Ethel Emmeline (Martin) Knight. He grew up in the Opportunity area and attended Gibson School. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 28, 1949, until Jan. 30, 1950, and then was called back during the Korean War and served from Sept. 17, 1950, until July 21, 1951.  

He married Mable Lieb on April 21, 1949, at the Presbyterian Church in O’Neill.  They left Nebraska in 1964 and lived in Oregon until 2011 when they moved to Page.  Allen was employed by Champion Plywood Mill in Lebanon, OR, as a forklift operator for 25 years, retiring in 1986.

Allen enjoyed four-wheeling around the mountains in his jeep. He was a member of the Page American Legion Post #315 and the United Methodist Church in Page.

Allen is survived by his wife Mable of Page; two sons, Michael Allen Knight of Toledo, OR, and Douglas Eugene Knight of Lebanon, OR; three grandchildren: Darin Allen Knight and Andrew Richard Knight, both of Vancouver, WA, and Adam Michael Knight, of Toledo, OR; four great-granddaughters; one brother, Freeman Lee Knight and wife Melva of Scott City, KS; one sister, Dena Ellen Loukota and husband Theodore of Sun City West, AZ, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Clara Margaret (Bartos) Knight and Clara’s twin brother in infancy and brother Glen Edward Knight.
