Cardinals Take Two Victories

St. Mary's Cardinal boys varsity improved their season record to 14-1 with two victories this past week. 

On Tuesday the boys traveled to Creighton to take on the Bulldogs (13-3) and were able to secure a hard fought overtime victory 72-67. Senior Cole Moon started the overtime period with a big steal and a lay up and the Cards never again trailed.

In Creighton the Cards placed two men in double figures led by junior Adam Moon with 32 points and the lead in rebounding with 19 boards while senior Connor Connot tossed in 17 physical tallies. Senior Aaron Ohri hauled down 10 boards and Connot was close behind with eight caroms. Ty Eiler led the assist totals with five while Moon and Kyle Pardun added four and three respectively.

Thursday the St. Mary's boys traveled to Stuart (8-5) and were victorious with a final score of 71-40.

The Cards jumped out to a halftime lead of 47-16 and never looked back. Adam Moon scored 24 points and Ty Eiler added 12 tallies. Jared Tomjack and Aaron Ohri added eight and seven points respectively. Rebounding leaders were the Moon brothers, with Adam having nine and Cole four. On defense Ohri had four steals and Eiler three.
