Board Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Nicole Campbell, Chairperson at 7:30 pm. Those in attendance were Nicole Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Randy Keil, Sheryl Sawyer, Deb Morsbach, Treasurer and Gwenda

Decker-Sterns,Village Clerk.

The public notice of the meeting which is placed on the Inman Community Center door was pointed out.

The updating of the certificate of deposit held by the Village was discussed. A motion was made by Kyle Campbell and a second was made by Sheryl Sawyer to have the names of the Chairperson and the Treasurer on the CD. The motion was approved. All in favor and none opposed. Motion carried.

The Keil family was present to discuss the possibility of having a Halloween celebration for the Inman community at the Community Center. It was decided the Keil family would supply decorations and games and the Village of Inman would provide a chili feed during the event. A motion was made by Deb Morsbach and a second by Sheryl Sawyer to approve the event. All in favor and none opposed. Motion carried. This event will be held at the Inman Community Center October 31, 2023. No definite time has been determined.

Nicole brought to the attention of the Board there are some properties in the Village which will possibly be sold at auction on a "tax sale." This topic was tabled and more information will be brought to the November 6th meeting.

Kyle brought to the attention of the Board Ewing, NE has a loader for sale through a "'sealed bid" sale. The discussion regarding the current equipment owned by the Village and the need for any additional equipment was discussed. This topic was tabled and more information will be brought to the Board meeting on November 6th.

Nicole shared with the Board she had applied for and received a grant for the parks and recreation of the Village through Holt County Economic Development. Adjustable basketball poles and springs for two pieces of playground equipment were purchased with the grant.

The Village bills and Treasurer's report were reviewed and approved. Motion was made by Kyle Campbell and second by Randy Keil. AIl in favor and none opposed. Motion carried.

The outcome of the budget meeting on September 19, 2023 was brought up by Deb Morsbach and asked if further explanation was needed. All board members agreed they understood the discussion at the meeting.

Jim Ferris was present at the meeting and requested to speak about payment of services provided during the flood the Spring of 2019. Jim was encouraged to contact his attorney.

The September 4, 2023 Village Board Meeting minutes were reviewed as written. One correction was requested. Gwenda Decker-Sterns, newly hired Village Clerk's name was stated in the minutes to be Gwenda Sterns. Gwenda's legal name is Gwenda Decker-Sterns. Sheryl Sawyer made the motion to approve the minutes with the correction. A second was made by Deb Morsbach. All in favor and none opposed. Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn was made by Sheryl Sawyer and a second by Kyle Campbell. All in favor and none opposed. Motion carried. Time meeting ended 8:19 pm

Next Village Board Meeting is scheduled for November 6, 2023 at 7:30 pm at the Village of Inman Community Center.
