St. Mary's Cards Stop Neligh 46-20

The St. Mary's Cardinals traveled to Neligh to take on the Warriors last Friday evening. The Cards bounced back after last week's loss to Bloomfield with a 46-20 win over Neligh-Oakdale.

Early in the game the Cards had trouble with the offense and the Warriors took advantage of good field position when Taylor Chance ran in nine yards for the first touchdown.

The Cards answered back with a five yard touchdown run by Kyle Loecker and Jared Tomjack ran in the two point conversion to tie the game at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Cards outscored the Warriors 24-6 with a touchdown by Tomjack and two more touchdowns by Kyle Loecker to put the Cards up 32-14 at the half.

The Cards shutdown the Neligh offense in the second half with the Warriors finding the end zone once in the fourth quarter. The Cards scored twice more with runs from Tomjack and Loecker.

Leading rushers in the match where Tomjack with 99 yards. Cardinal quarter back Kyle Regan was 5/12 for 60 yards and the top receiver for the cards was Connor Connot with three touchdowns for 29 yards. Top defensive players were Seth Miles with 14 tackles and Jared Tomjack with 14.
