St. Mary's Cardinals Improve To 13-0

The St. Mary's Cardinals improved to 13-0 with two victories this past week. On Tuesday, the Santee Warriors came to O'Neill and were defeated by the Cards 91-38. Fourteen Cardinals scored in the contest. On Friday, St. Mary's entertained the Lynch Eagles and had 12 Cards score in the 90-20 victory.

The Tuesday contest saw St. Mary's place three men in double figures led by Tait Sibbel's 17 points. Adam Moon and Tom Chvala tossed in 12 and 11 points respectively, seniors Ryan Podany and David Shields added nine and eight points each. Chvala, Aaron Ohri, Kyle Loecker and Jared Tomjack led the rebounding with five boards apiece. Assists leaders were Podany and Ty Eiler with eight each.

On Friday Tait Sibbel with 19 and sophomore Kyle Pardun with 12 led the offense for St. Mary's. Adam Moon, Aaron Ohri, David Shields and Connor Connot each added eight points apiece. Moon and Tom Chvala led the rebounding chart with six caroms each. Sibbel, Connot, Jared Tomjack and Kyle Loecker added four boards each. Ty Eiler led the ball handling with six assists while Moon chipped in with four.

This week finds the Cardinals remaining at home with two big contests. On Tuesday, the 13-2 Creighton Bulldogs were to come to town and then on Thursday its the fast improving Stuart Broncos with a 9-4 record. The Cardinals will then go into NVC action on Saturday, Jan. 28.
