St. Mary's records big wins over past week against Creighton, Stuart and Chambers/Wheeler Central. The Lady Cards opened up with a hard fought 44-28 victory over the Lady Bulldogs from Creighton. Emily Everitt led in scoring with 10 points followed by Jessi Pongratz, Brooke Bauer and Bridget Schneider with seven each. Brooke hauled in 12 rebounds and Bridget dished out seven assists.

Next up were the Stuart Lady Broncos as they came into town and faced off against SMH on the home court. The game started out close but SMH was able to pull out a 57-34 Niobrara Valley Conference win. In action Monday night, SMH hosted CWC Lady Renegades in second round of the Niobrara Valley Conference Tournament. St. Mary's won in a very tough battle by a score of 49-33. It wasn't until the fourth quarter that the Cards had a little breathing room. Several Lady Card's stepped up and knocked down a couple of three pointers. Ball control and free throws sealed the win. This was a defensive battle early on as the first quarter ended, both teams only had five points each. With a very good team effort St. Mary's pushes their record to 15-2 and takes on Ewing at Verdigre Thursday,  Feb. 2 in  the semi-final round of the NVC Tournament.
