O'Neill Golfer's Compete In Three Tournaments

The O'Neill Golf Team played three tournaments this past week and a half.  The biggest highlight of these tournaments was Allison Depko winning the O'Neill Invite last Monday.  She played extremely well beating some outstanding golfers from Valentine and Norfolk Catholic.  Her steady play this year has her placing in the top five in all tournaments with her scoring average dropping below 90.  Allison also placed fifth at the Pierce Invite shooting an 86 and third at the Boone Central Invite shooting an 87.  Holly Hesse has seen some improvement the last few weeks and is beginning to shoot many rounds in the 50's.  At the O'Neill Invite, Holly was in a playoff with two other girls for a medal.  She played the first playoff hole with a par to win the playoff and earn 14th  place.  Nicole Lind has continued her good play.  She is consistently beginning to shoot many rounds in the 50's and has placed in two of the last three tournaments.  Nicole placed 20th at the Pierce Tournament with a score of 104 and followed that up with a 12th  place finish at the O'Neill Invite.  Morgan Langan continues to work hard and is starting to see some results.  Her scores have dropped to the upper 50's to lower 60's and has just been out of medaling in a few tournaments.  Davita Dick has taken over the fifth spot on varsity after an injury to Kailey Kumm.  She is shooting scores in the mid 60's and has improved a lot from the beginning of the year.  As a team, O'Neill finish 7  out of 14 teams at Pierce shooting a team score of 427, foruth at Boone Central with a score of 433, and third at the O'Neill Invite with a score of 421 leaving them just four strokes away from second place.  This week the O'Neill Golfers will send the JV to Valentine Invite and the Varsity will participate in the Wayne Invite.
