O'Neill Cross Country Finds Success Across All Levels At Norfolk Catholic Invitational

The O'Neill Cross Country teams turned in strong performances this past week, earning medals and top team finishes across multiple divisions.

In the boy's varsity race, the Eagles claimed the runner-up team trophy, led by a standout run from Max Berg, who finished third overall. He was joined on the medal stand by Paul Fonseca (13th) and Alonso Hernandez (15th). Also contributing to the varsity lineup were Tomas Arciniega (21st), Brandon Romero (26th), and Brock Latzel (56th), securing the Eagles' team finish just behind the champions.

The girl's varsity squad placed 10th overall, highlighted by Kiarra Kennedy's eighth place medal-winning finish. Rounding out the varsity girls were Taya Dickau (42nd), Lynn Miner (46th), Mollie Corkle (53rd), Emma Bowder (61st), Hailey Romesser (65th), Jailyn Romesser (66th), and Emma French (73rd).

O'Neill's depth shined in the junior varsity boy's division, where the team captured a second place finish. Medalists included Jordani Ramirez (4th) and Evan Cole (5th), while Tyson Becker (11th), Alex Otte (20th), Alex Nelson (23rd), Edan Calvo (33rd), Luke Wilson (35th), Isaac Sunum (37th), Logan Bradshaw (45th), Kaleb Asche (49th), Gavin Kruse (50th), Liam Kennedy (59th), and Shotara Tetsukawa (60th) all packed in to secure the runner-up team title.

At the junior high level, the O'Neill girls placed 10th as a team. Leading the way was Erandi Pantago (29th), followed by Madia Sanchez (55th), Aiyana Brown (63rd), Mya McCormick (67th), Remi Kurtz (73rd), and Khloe Kopecky (78th).

The junior high boys ran to a fifth place team finish, paced by Kyler Wettlaufer's sixth place medal performance. Other scorers included Lane Dougherty (14th), Jase Sanders (43rd), Octavia Garcia (51st), Era French (67th), Leo Calvo (68th), Alvaro Garcia (77th), Fernando Cayax (78th), and Justin Luzania (82nd).

With solid efforts from varsity to junior high, the Eagles once again showcased their talent, depth, and determination in a strong day of competition.
