O'Neill Bands Ranks Superior Again At District Music Contest

On Friday April 21st, the O'Neill High School Band traveled to Ainsworth to perform in the NSAA District III Music Contest. It proved to be another successful day for the band, as both the Concert Band and the Stage Band received State Medalist honors again this year. Solo and Small Ensemble groups earning ‘Superior' ratings included: Alto Sax Duet (Hana Miller, Reagan Roessler), Tenor/Bari Duet (Tate Stauffer, Karter Otte), Trombone Duet (Tucker Stagemeyer, Reese Grosch), French Horn Solo (William Grosch), Baritone Solo (Kyler Dean), and Snare Drum Solo (Caleb Laursen). Earning Excellent ratings were: Flute Duet (Mallorie Scott, Kelli Tunender), and Xylophone Solo (Mollie Corkle). The Trumpet Trio, consisting of Aurora Heiss, Tyler Diediker and Kyler Dean not only received a ‘Superior' Rating, but also earned a perfect score with their rendition of “Malaguena". The band will be concluding their year by performing at the Activity Awards Night as well as Graduation.
