Mary Kay Bronzynski, 78, of O'Neill, formerly of Laurel, died Thursday, May 8, 2025 at her home in O'Neill. Memorial services will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Word of Life Assembly of God Church in O'Neill with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Burial will be in the O'Neill City Cemetery in O'Neill at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson is in charge of the arrangements. Mary was the youngest of seven siblings born to Robert and Margaret (Schad) Potter. She attended and graduated high school in Laurel. Given her love for auto racing, it was poetic that she met her lifelong sweetheart at a racetrack, Gene Bronzynski, and on Jan. 25th, 1969 they were married. They remained stuck like glue for over 50 years until Gene passed away from complications with cancer in 2019. Gene and Mary had two daughters Tamie and Dawn. She had six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and she treasured every moment with them. Many of you in O'Neill and surrounding area were touched in one way or another by Mary's years of service at Cubby's, Casey's and various other jobs in the community. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She loved a life of adventure and loved to travel, ride horses, go to races and mow her lawn. Her favorite swear word was “horse feathers.” Mary is survived by her two daughters Tamie (Raymond) Payton of Doon, Iowa and Dawn (Joel) Hansen of O'Neill, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two brothers Robert Potter of Irving, Texas and Ron Potter of Valentine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, her sister and three of her brothers.
