Lady Eagles Win Three

The Lady Eagles had a very good week on the road going 3-0 by defeating Pierce, Battle Creek, and undefeated Wayne.  We are very proud of our girls and there resilency during a very busy week of basketball away from home.  Pierce had six girls over  5'11" and went 10 deep off of the bench.  The key for us in this game was the ability to stay aggressive and beat them in the rebounding column.  We did not shoot very well, but we did force some key turnovers and went 14 out of 17 from the free throw line to ice it down the stretch 44-39.

"Friday we traveled to Battle Creek where we played a very fast and business-like game.  Both JV and varsity gained a win for their efforts and we did a lot of good things.  Saturday we finished up the week by traveling to undefeated Wayne where we came home with a three  point win 46-43.  This was tremendous team effort and a display of giving it all you got! We had a very long week on the road and we came in trailing by as much as 10 points (20-10) in the first half and battled back.  The girls never gave up and beating Wayne on their home court is a feat in itself if they are undefeated or not.  Wayne is a very good team hitting eight, three point field goals with six different players.  We as a coaching staff cannot express how proud we are of the efforts that were shown last week," said Coach Eichelberger.

In the Pierce game leading the Eagles were Kelsey Appleby and Alex Hedlund with 15 points each and Brandi Walters with six points.

In the Wayne game Lindsey Appleby led with 14 points, Kelsey Appleby with 12 points and Alex Hedlund with eight.

In the Battle Creek game Alex Hedlund led with 15 points, Kelsey Appleby with 14 points, Lindsey Appleby with 12 and Molly Shane with 10.
