O'Neill hosted a triangular with Wayne and Hartington CC on Friday.  It was also the last home game of the season for the Eagles so senior athletes and their parents were honored.  Senior players recognized were Molly Shane, Alex Hedlund, Katie Danielson, and Kelsey Appleby.

O'Neill vs. Wayne

The Eagles had a rematch with the Wayne Blue Devils the first match of the triangular last Friday evening.  The two teams faced each other earlier in the season at the Boone Central Tournament where the Eagles downed the Blue Devils in a very close three set match to get into the championship.

"Both of tonight's matches were very competitive and exciting to watch.  It was a great atmosphere for the teams to play in as we go into the conference tournament and sub-districts", commented Coach Appleby.  "It was a terrific win over Wayne and a thriller against Hartington CC.  I couldn't ask for more effort from my players...all of them played extremely hard.  The seniors performed just as I would have expected on their last home court match—they gave it their all, and I am proud of the way they competed."

Alex Hedlund led the team in kills with 16.  Molly Shane had seven kills followed by Lindsey Appleby with six kills.   Setter Kelsey Appleby dumped 6/6 and came up with four kills against the Trojans.  Katie Danielson added three kills while Alyssa Sobotka had one.
