Neligh — LaVerne Victor Heermann, 88, of Neligh, died peacefully Jan. 30, 2025 at Creighton Avera Hospital in Creighton. A celebration of life will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Neligh American Legion in Neligh with a 5:30 p.m. service. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation and can be sent to Karmen Hoffman at 85803 519 Ave., Clearwater, NE 68726. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is in charge of the arrangements. LaVerne was born on April 5, 1936. LaVern had a love for life that was reflected in his love for family, in his hunting, fishing and many trips to Sturgis. LaVerne enlisted in the United State Army from Jan. 20, 1955 to Dec. 20, 1956. He was Private First Class during the Korean War. Thank you to all who loved him. LaVerne is survived by three daughters Karmen (Rick) Hoffman of Clearwater; two grandsons Josh of Rushmore, MN; Alex (Brittnie 'Lambrecht') of Orchard; two grandchildren Randi (Dylan) Mack of Clearwater and Kasey Shenshew of Clearwater; three great-granddaughters and six great-grandsons; daughter Shannon Olson of Neligh; two granddaughters Jacqueline "Jackie" Olson of Neligh and Sheena Olson of Petersburg; and son Javis (Allie) Olson of Hope Mills, NC; five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; and daughter Serena Heermann (Wendy Stutzman) of Dannebrog. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Stella (Hledjik) Heermann and husband Leonard Wehrer and his brother Ronald Heermann.
