Isaac Clinton Reber

Clinton Reber, age 92, of Norfolk passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at his home.

Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2011, from 4-6 p.m. at Home for Funerals in Norfolk.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at United Church of Christ in Naper. Reverend Olin Belt will officiate. Burial will be in Knollcrest Cemetery in Naper.

Clinton was born April 2, 1919, in Naper to John and Ada Reber. He was the youngest of thirteen children. He grew up in the rural community of Naper. In 1942, Mr. Reber enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a complete four years, flying patrol bombers. In 1944, he and Ioan Cunningham were united in marriage and together had three children: Paula, Carla and Lynn.

He and his family spent the next 15 years farming in Naper before moving to Arvada, CO, where he began his lengthy mail carrying career. In 1961, Clint transferred mail routes and began carrying in Hoskins. Mr. Reber retired from the mail route in 1980 after 38 years of service. He worked for Federal Crop Insurance for the following eighteen years to fully retire at age 79.

Survivors include his son, Lynn Reber of Tennessee and two grandchildren, Monica Marquardt and Lee Reber. He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters; parents; and all of his siblings.
