Chambers — Foster David Burrell, 79, of Chambers, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a four year battle with cancer.

A memorial visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Foster was born on the family ranch west of Chambers on July 23, 1943 to Ernest and Estella (Whitsell) Burrell. He attended country school west of Chambers before graduating from Chambers High School in 1962.

Following graduation Foster met Glennda Sue Watkins while working with her brothers on a wheat harvesting crew in Kansas. They were married on Dec. 30, 1966 at the Methodist church in Chambers. To this union two children were born Brenda and Vincent.

They lived in Wichita, KS and Atkinson before making their home in Chambers.  

Foster worked for Harley Feed and Fertilizer, Holt County COOP and raised hogs. 

In his free time Foster enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Foster is survived by his wife of 55 years Sue Burrell of Chamber; two children Brenda (Al) Walnofer and Vincent (Denise) Burrell, all of Chambers; nine grandchildren Ben (Debra) Walnofer and children Reid and Reese, Luke (Cheri) Walnofer and daughter Willow, Alexandrya Burrell and Connor Saner and children Neveah, Sylus, Xander, Caydyn, Athene and Dezi, Peter (Kadi) Walnofer and children Sage, Walker and Bridger, John (Jessika) Walnofer and children Liam, Charlotte and Noa, Chyenne Burrell and Eddy DuPree and children Elliot, Kayne and Arlo, Schyler Burrell, BrookLynn Burrell and Brandon Coombs and son Beckett and Mary Walnofer; two brothers Virgil Burrell and Fay (Carol) Burrell; three sisters Latrelle (Dewain) Vanderbeek, Rachel (Cecil) Johnson and Wanda Swenson; one brother-in-law Dale Brown; one sister-in law Carol Burrell; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Victor Burrell and Roscoe Burrell and one sister Virginia Brown.
