The O'Neill Lady Eagles qualified one girl for the Nebraska State Track and Field Championships. Senior Brandi Walters competed in the 100 meter high hurdles and 300 meter low hurdles. Brandi placed third in her heat and ran a 15.95 in the high hurdle prelims. Her time was not good enough to qualify for the finals. Later that day she competed in the 300 meter low hurdle prelims. Brandi finished seventh in her heat running a 48.54 which was not good enough for the finals.

"Brandi ran well, but the high hurdles this year were just very fast.  She has been a major contributor to our track team for four years and we are going to really miss her; not only on the track, but as a leader on our girls track team," said Coach Peterson.

In the boys' competition Tate Laursen took third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.81. Grant Johnston placed 15th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:27.53. Derrick Hostert took third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:28.74.

In the 4x800 relay O'Neill took fourth with a time of 8:15.68. Running the event were Charley Burtwistle, Tyson Hostert, Derrick Hostert, and Michael Hedlund. The 4x400 relay finished 11th with a time  of 3:29.65. Running the event were Tate Laursen, Derrick Hostert, Michael Hedlund and  Brock Schueth.
