The O'Neill Eagles faced off against the Battle Creek Braves last Friday in O'Neill and lost 48-0. "Battle Creek came into this game with a business-like attitude and took it at us for four full quarters and we did not respond.  The outcome of this game would have never even crossed our coaches minds going into Friday night.  We did not come with the energy, focus and enthusiasm needed to compete with a good team.  Battle Creek is a good football team and they grabbed onto momentum and never let up.  We are half way through our season now and we need to  re-evaluate strengths, weaknesses, players, coaches and direction we want to take this program the next four weeks.  We will continue this week getting back to some of the basic fundamentals and work extremely hard to improve on our weaknesses.  It's very important now that our players and community stay united throughout the second half of our season for anything positive to take place," said Coach Eichelberger.

In rushing Tate Laursen led the Eagles with eight carries for 71-yards, David Fox with seven carries for 34-yards, Riley Chohon with three carries for 20-yards and Angel Rodriguez with four carries for 10-yards. Top receivers for the Eagles were Derrick Hostert with two receptions for 17-yards, Tyler Knopp with two receptions for 16-yards and Angel Rodriguez with two receptions for 11-yards.

Leading defensive players were Tyler Knopp with eight total tackles followed by Tate Laursen with seven tackles and Robert Norby with six tackles.

This week the Eagles will face a top rated Central City Team at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
