The O'Neill Wrestlers have wrapped up another season bringing home some impressive hardware.

Seniors Brady Thompson and Ty Rainforth brought gold home, Dylan Parks a fourth place medal, John Alden a fifth place medal and Paola Vergara, O'Neill's first female to place at the Nebraska State Wrestling meet brought home a second place medal.

Vergara wrestled at the 165 lb. weight class and easily won her first matches to pit her in the championship round against Kaylee Ricketts of Wahoo. She fell short by a 12-5 decision to claim the second place medal.

Dylan Parks brought home a fourth place medal in the 106 lb. class and John Alden, a return wrestler to the state meet, brought home fifth place at 126 lbs.

Senior Ty Rainforth finished his career at O'Neill with his second first place medal. His 2022 State Championship performance makes him a four time state medalist. Rainforth got to the finals with two pins to face Hunter Vandenberg of David City Aquinas in the championship round. Rainforth won the match 10-3 by decision.

O'Neill's second senior, Brady Thompson, finished his Eagle wrestling career with a 145 lb. state championship medal. The three-time state medalist won his first match of the tournament with a 13-2 win by decision. After his semi-final round pin at 4:44, Thompson faced Quentyn Frank of Amherst. Having faced each other in districts, the two dueled with Thompson coming out on top by a 16-3 major decision.
