Volleyball Underway

The Eagle JV volleyball team started the 2012 season hosting Boone Central.  The Cardinals defeated the Eagles in four sets 25-19,14-25, 23-25 and 19-25. Rahtaya Young and McKenzie Adamson led the attack with two kills each.  Amanda Pischel served 16-19 to score 11 points for the team. She also had one solo block.  Rahtaya led the team on defense with five  digs. Libero Addie Schneider was eight for 15 in serve receive.  

O’Neill then hosted a triangular with Valentine and West Holt. The Eagles suffered defeat twice. Valentine won in straight sets of 14-25 and 25-27. The Eagles competed well in this game showing improvement from the opener. Karina De La O and Amanda Pischel led the offense with four and three kills respectively.  Amanda also had another solo block.  Brandi Taylor served seven for eight to lead the team with five points.  On defense Rahtaya Young had five digs.  In the second game, the Eagles struggled against a very solid West Holt Huskie team. They were defeated 7-25 and 8-25.  Brandi Taylor led the team with six digs. 

The team traveled to Crofton and showed much improvement.  The C-team and JV players combined for a best out of five games.  The Warriors came out on top with scores of 20-25, 25-12, 13-25 and 23-25.  Rahtaya led the team in attacks, she hit 12 for 13 with 6 kills. Brandi Taylor led the team in assists with 10. Libero Addie Schneider served a perfect 17 for 17 for 13 points.  Brandi also led the team on defense with seven digs. McKenzie Adamson did an outstanding job at serve reception, she passed eight for nine. Alex Strampher did a nice job as a libero in the first set, she served six for six scoring five points.  Karina De La O, Amanda Picshel, Natalie Brodersen, McKenzie Adamson and Sarah Devall played very well at the net, combining for 12 kills.
