Cardinals Blast Coyotes In 64-12 Win On Friday

The St. Mary's Cardinals put another opponent away defeating the Chambers Coyotes 64-12.

The Cards opened up their scoring barrage with Tait Sibbel putting in the first touchdown on a nine yard touchdown run.

Chambers countered with their first score on a 30 yard touchdown pass from Charley Burtwistle to Pete Walnofer.

The Cardinals scored 22 unanswered points with two more touchdowns from Sibbel and Ty Eiler ran in a 59 yard punt return for a touchdown to end the scoring for the first quarter with the Cards up 28-6.

In the second quarter the Cards scored 24 more points with the next two touchdowns coming at the hands of Ty Eiler with two punt returns for touchdowns.  Followed by Jared Tomjack who stuck a safety on for the Cards. To finish out the scoring before the half Tait Sibbel threw a touchdown pass to Ryan Podany followed by a two point conversion by David Shields.

The second half of the game was dominated by the second team players for the Cards. Anthony Harvey ran in a 35 yard touchdown for the Cards only score in the third quarter and then Chambers made it into the end zone when Burtwistle threw to Jon Doolittle for a five yard touchdown in the third.

The Cards last touchdown came when Seth Miles ran in 14-yards for a touchdown to put the Cards up 64-12.

Top rushers in the game were Schylar Franssen with 12 yards and Tait Sibbel with 48 yards. Burtwistle was three for 17 for 77 yards and Sibbel was four for four for 34 yards. Top receivers were Walnofer with two catches for 68 yards and Ryan Podany with two catches for 23 yards. Top defensive players were Kyle Loecker and Connor Connot each with seven tackles. 

Top players for the Cards in this match were Ty Eiler with four punt returns for 207 yards and three touchdowns, two interceptions for 45 yards and two kick off returns for 45 yards. Connor Connot had four tackles for losses and two sacks.
