The St. Mary's Cardinals have made it through the 2011 season undefeated with a 60-14 win on the road against Wausa.

The first quarter saw the Cardinals explode with Tait Sibbel touching the ball three times for three touchdowns and at one point averaging 17 yards a run. Sibbel scored four times in the first quarter to put the Cards up 32-0 at the end of the quarter with Ty Eiler and Luke Loecker making the two point conversions.

Ty Eiler had a 12-yard touchdown run in the beginning of the second quarter. The Vikings deliberately shanked their punts to Eiler this game after his performance in last week’s match running three in for touchdowns. Sibbel threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Podany in the second to finish out the second quarter.

Wausa got on the board in the third quarter when Marcus Claussen ran 30 yards for a touchdown and then Claussen hit Trevor Wakeley for the two point conversion. Tait Sibbel finished out his scoring for the game in the third on a 35-yard run.

The Cardinal second teams took to the field for the fourth quarter where Wausa again scored when Reiel Friedrich threw to Hunter Vannes for a 12-yard touchdown. Seth Miles wrapped up the game on a 42-yard touchdown followed by Zach Novak who capped the victory with the two point conversion.

Top rushers in the game were Tait Sibbel with 209 yards and Marcus Claussen with 82 yards.  Sibbel was six for eight in passing for 73 yards and Claussen for the Vikings was five for 14 for 41 yards. Top receivers were Ryan Podany with three catches for 32 yards and Trevor Wakeley with four catches for 38 yards. Top defensive player was Kyle Loecker with 11 tackles on the night.

The Cardinals advance to the state playoffs and will face Wallace in O'Neill at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
