Ann A Kelley was born on July 10, 1948 in O'Neill to William and Willametta (Park) Kelley. She grew up on the family farm, southwest of Inman. She attended school, in their pasture, at Willow Lake School through eighth grade.  Ann then went to Inman High School as a freshman but then they closed the school down. She finished her last three years at St. Mary's Catholic High School where she enjoyed playing on the volleyball team. Ann graduated in 1966.

Ann spent a lot of her time during her formative years with her uncle and aunt Jim and Marge Kelley at the horse racing tracks around Nebraska. These experiences started a lifelong love of horses. Ann loved to spend her time with her horses, riding and even barrel racing. She continued to ride until just the last few years.

After high school, she went to Norfolk Junior College, she then worked for a phone company.

On Dec. 6, 1969, Ann married her high school sweetheart Bob Davis at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. The couple moved to Grand Island, where she transferred with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. In 1971, they moved to Lincoln where she worked at LT&T as an operator. After their first child Kami was born, the couple moved to David City. When all her kids were in school, Ann attended Central Community College in Columbus and received her LPN and then started working at CHI Health Hospital in Schuyler.  In 1983, the couple moved back to Inman and Ann started working at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill and received her LPN-C from Central Community College in Grand Island.  After over 30 years of nursing, Ann retired in 2010.

Ann was a 4-H leader and helped coach the horse judging team that was the Nebraska state champion in 1988.  She was a member of the Boots & Saddle Club.

Ann enjoyed caring for her flowers and her garden. She also went fishing at Whetstone Bay in South Dakota with her siblings and other family members many times. Ann loved spending time with her family, especially going to their sporting events.

Ann is survived by her husband of 54 years Bob Davis of Inman; her two children Amy (Tom) Magnuson of Omaha and Tim (Nikki) Davis of O'Neill; her son-in-law Kevin Sholes of Inman; nine grandchildren Makala (Dustin) Cross, Chase Sholes, Chism Sholes, Chance Sholes, Nolan Magnuson, Laney Magnuson, Riley Davis, Brenna Davis and Abby Page; two great-grandchildren Jacey Cross and Ryker Cross; her two brothers Don (Mary) Kelley of Lincoln and Ned (Linelle) Kelley of Inman; her sister Kay (Avery) Zediker of Sioux City, Iowa; one sister-in-law Dianne Kelley of Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Kami Sholes in 2017, her brother Neal Kelley, an infant brother Tim Kelley, aunt and uncle Jim and Marge Kelley, her nephew Shawn Kelley and her father- and mother in-law Leonard and Rita Davis.
