Atkinson — Vernon Fredrick Albrecht, 88, of Atkinson, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Center in Atkinson. Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson with a prayer service. Visitation will continue from 9-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atkinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025 at the church in Atkinson. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Vernon was born Aug. 5, 1937, on the family farm northeast of Atkinson in Holt County, Nebraska, to Henry Albrecht and Amelia (Bork) Albrecht. He was the youngest of nine children. Vernon was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Atkinson. He attended District 147 grade school through eighth grade and Atkinson High School in Atkinson, where he lettered in football and graduated with honors in 1955. Vernon and his brother John launched into farming, ranching and milking cows, after John was discharged from the service in 1957. Their pride and joy was raising good crops and building their Black Angus herd with long hours and hard work. As a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Vernon served as treasurer and as an Elder. Vernon is survived by his sister Martha Hoxie, one sister-in-law Betty Albrecht, one special niece Elisha Albrecht and her fiancé Todd Miller. He was preceded in death by his three brothers Harold, Edward and John; his four sisters Alvina, Mia Lammert, Dorothy Gaylord and Hilda Lehl; two brothesr-in-law Wayne Hoxie and Bill Lehl; and three nephews Bruce Hoxie, Kevin Lehl and Richard (Dick) Albrecht.
