Ruth D. Ritterbush, age 77, of Chambers, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter in O'Neill.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, from 4-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers with Rev. Terry Makelin officiating. Music was provided by organist, Darlene Riener with congregational singing.

Pallbearers were Doug Dankert, Larry Adams, Darrel Dexter, Fred Boelter, Duane DeVries and Phillip Metschke.

Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Darlene Mace was born on March 16, 1935, on the family farm northwest of Chambers, to Arnie Sr. and Mary (Holz) Mace. 

She married John Ritterbush on Aug. 25, 1952, in Chambers and was a ranch wife until they moved to town in 1964. She then worked as head cook at the Chambers School until retiring in 2003. John passed away on May 29, 1995.

Ruth was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chambers, a representative of the AAL and a member of the LWML where she was an officer for many years. Her passions were cooking and baking.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Randy Ritterbush and wife, Karen of Battle Creek and Robert Ritterbush and wife, Cori of Papillion; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Stacy Maier and husband, Kurt and children, Jaden and Jaylie of Tea, SD; Aaron Sinclair and wife, Trishia and children, Lilianna and Logan of Ankeny, Iowa; Regina Sherman of Norfolk; Alison Miller and husband, Tim of West Point; Taylar and A.J. Nelson and Alexus, Kennedi, Sophia and Samantha Ritterbush, all of Papillion; one sister, Florence Ritterbush of O'Neill; one sister-in-law, Delores Mace of O'Neill; one nephew, Richard Mace and wife, Diane of O'Neill and one niece, Ruth Durre of Hastings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Arnie Mace, Jr.; brother-in-law, William Ritterbush and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Millie and Henry Weber.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chambers.
