Trap Shoot Raises $2,037 For K-9 Project

The O'Neill Police Department's K-9 Benefit Trap Shoot & Gun Raffle was held June 11, 2011, at the O'Neill Gun Club. The shooting began at approximately 9:30 a.m. with over 38 shooters, young and old competing to hit the approximately 2,600 blue rocks which were thrown. Turkey shoots and quail shoots were held throughout the day and added to the shooting fun. Everyone enjoyed grilled hamburgers, chips and drinks for lunch.

Three hundred seventy-three raffle tickets were sold for the New England 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun, donated by Tom Davidson of Davidson Guns. The drawing was held at 2:00 p.m., and the winner was Ernie Hahne from Atkinson. Proceeds from the Trap Shoot and Gun Raffle totaled $2,037.00 , which will assist in setup of the K-9 Unit at the O'Neill Police Department.
