Joshua James Lytle was born on Feb. 19, 1992, to Debra (Lytle) Kinney in Kearney. He lived with his mother and her family in Burwell until he was three. He then came to live with his great-aunt and uncle, Rosemary (Long) and Marcus Pierson, north of Ewing, and was welcomed into his now extended family with loving arms. After a family gathering with all of Rosemary and Marcus' grandchildren  Josh decided it was too confusing for him to call Marcus and Rosemary his aunt and uncle so they became Grandma and Grandpa from that point on.

He attended school in Orchard and then Northeast Community College in Norfolk for two semesters. But, his heart was back home on the farm he returned to the farm to live with Marcus. Josh had just moved, with a friend, to their first "official" bachelor pad in January. He was working at Maschhoff Farms at Bartlett at the time of his death.

He played basketball and participated in power lifting while in high school. He enjoyed shop and auto technology as evident by the thumpin' of his stereo announcing his arrival long before he got there. He loved the outdoors and hunting, fishing and going to the lake with his brother and his family and friends. Josh followed in the family tradition with his love of bowling. He was a giant, gentle soul whose friends and family meant the world to him.

Josh is survived by his great uncle (Grandpa) Marcus Pierson of Ewing; brother, Joe and Kris Lamb of Sargent and his niece Kendra and nephews, Bryce, Grant and Noah; aunt, Verda (Long) and Charlie Thoene; and uncles, Lloyd (Sandy) Long, Fred (Barb) Long. His extended sisters are: Julie (Pierson) and Doug Lechner, Grand Island; Chyrel (Pierson) and  Mike Hall, Red Bluff, CA; Connie (Pierson) and Joe Walz, Kearney; Melodie (Pierson) and Chad Funk, Clearwater; Annette (Hopkins) and Rod Palmer of Enola and all of their children and grandchildren whom he considered his cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilma (Long) and Clay Lytle; his mother, Debra (Lytle) Kinney and his great-aunt (Grandma) Rosemary (Long) Pierson.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.snidermemorialfh.com.  For memorials the family would like to create a memorial in Josh's memory.
