Atkinson — Hubert William Ramold, 87, of Atkinson, died Thursday, April 28, 2022 at West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson with a 7 p.m. rosary.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Atkinson. Fr. Joseph Sund will officiate. Music will be provided by organist Terri Vrooman and soloist Bonnie Krysl.

Pallbearers will be Randy Ramold, David Jakubowski, Nick Schaaf, Ed Peter, John and Roy Schaaf and Raymond and Bill Timmerman.

Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Atkinson with military rites provided by Atkinson American Legion Post No. 86.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Hubert was born on Jan. 16, 1935 at the family home west of Emmet, to Joseph and Anna (Kohle) Ramold. He grew up north of Emmet and attended country school through the eighth grade. Hubert and his siblings helped to run the family farm with their mother after his father died. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Atkinson where he graduated high school in 1952.  

Hubert was in the U.S. Army service as a mechanic from 1958 to 1960 where he connected with many Ramold family members in Germany where he was stationed. 

He returned home in 1960 where he continued to farm on the family farm for the past 70 plus years.  

He moved to the Evergreen Assisted Living Center for the past few years.

Hubert enjoyed traveling to see family and friends locally and to Nebraska City, Canada and Germany. Many times he would travel to Hill City, SD for good German food. He also loved taking trips and taking many photographs on his trips to the states of Washington, Colorado and Wyoming to go snowmobiling.  

Hubert was a member of the Atkinson Knights of Columbus, the Atkinson American Legion Post No. 86 and the Atkinson Lions Club where he was a member for many years and always enjoyed helping flip burgers for many!  

He would often offer to drive friends and family members to doctor's appointments or wherever they needed to go.  

He was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Emmet until it closed and then attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he was a church lector for many years and could be heard singing hymns with the congregation.

Hubert is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 11 siblings Lena Tunender, Katherine Deermer, Mary Peter, Theresa Schaaf, Ann Timmerman, Joe Ramold, Nick Ramold, Andy Ramold, Jack Ramold, George Ramold and Larry Ramold.                        18
