Nachtman, a man who never knew a stranger, whose infectious laughter and unforgettable wit left a lasting mark on those fortunate enough to have known him. Born on Dec. 10, 1951, in O'Neill, Howard was a man who found joy in the simple things that life offers. Howard lived by, crafting a life rich in love, laughter and lasting memories. A quintessential outdoorsman, Howard cherished his time under the vast Nebraska skies as a respected and accomplished rancher. But Howard was much more than a rancher. He was an avid hunter, a skillful trapper and a patient fisherman. Yet, what he loved most was not the thrill of the chase but the chance to share these passions with his beloved grandkids. His generosity of spirit was never more apparent than when he was teaching them the secrets of his trade, his eyes twinkling with joy and pride. Howard's wit, humor and generosity touched the hearts of many. As we bid farewell to Howard, let us remember the shared laughter, the quiet conversations and the happy times. Don't be afraid to smile at these memories, for they are proof of a life beautifully lived. Howard is survived by his loving wife Kathy; four children Kipp Nachtman of Atlantic, Iowa, Kasey (Virgie) Nachtman of Lincoln, Sasha (Colter) Hilger of Raymore, MO and Meagan Nachtman of Lincoln; nine grandchildren Ethan (Kristin) Nachtman of Atlantic, Iowa, Jacob (Payton) Nachtman of Osceola, Colton Nachtman of Atlantic, Iowa, Kade (Josie) Nachtman of Walnut, Iowa, Bergan Hilger of Kansas City, MO, Bailey Hilger of Decatur, GA, Grayden Hilger of Raymore, MO, Silas Sanchez of Lincoln and Olivia Nachtman of Atlantic, Iowa; and one great-granddaughter Lainey Nachtman of Walnut, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Dorothy Nachtman.
