Helen Irene Schilousky, age 91, of Ewing, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Golden LivingCenter in O'Neill.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Church of Christ in Ewing. Pastor Robert Moore officiated. Music was provided by John Peterson.

Snider Memorial Home of Clearwater was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in the Ewing City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Brown, Charles Brown, Dean Schilousky, Don Schilousky, Caleb Schilousky, Josiah Schilousky, Matt Schilousky, Jeff Schilousky, Adam Schilousky, Mike Schilousky, Brandon Schilousky and John Imel.

Helen was born on Oct. 3, 1919, in Orchard to Carl A. and Sarah A. (Pittenger) Bartenbach. She was baptized into Christ at the Neligh Church of Christ. Helen grew up and received her education in Petersburg. Helen married Alfred E. Schilousky on Feb. 8, 1937. She devoted her life to her family. The family lived in Petersburg for 10 years then moved to Fullerton for a year but lived in Ewing for the past 63 years. She enjoyed gardening and canned food, baked and grew fruit trees to help provide for her large family. She liked to sew and made many of her children's clothes and sewed costumes for the school programs. She also enjoyed family gatherings and reunions. Helen made time for all her children, grandchildren great-grandchildren and relatives and was loved by all of them. Helen trusted in God in all that she did.

She is survived by five sons, Alfred Schilousky of Ewing, James and wife Debra Schilousky of Ewing, Joseph and wife Marsha of Norfolk, Eugene and wife Gwen Schilousky of St. Paul and John and wife Ruth Ann Schilousky of Laurel; four daughters, Dolly Schilousky and Barbara Schilousky both of Ewing, Alvera and husband Merle Anderson of Grand Island and Debra and husband Mark Imel of Belleville, KS; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alvina Herpolsheimer of Mulvan, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Bartenbach; sisters, Catherine Voss and Jeanett Schilousky; her husband; two infant sons; and a daughter-in-law, Roma.
