Harlan Dierking, age 88, of Amelia, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter in Neligh.

Visitation will be held Thursday (today), Jan. 24, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers with Rev. Terry Makelin officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Darlene Reiner and soloist, Jan Wood.

Pallbearers will be Doug Frahm, Dennis Murphy, Greg Hansen, Brad Dexter, Charles Liermann and Nick Waldo.

Burial will be in the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers with military graveside rites conducted by the Chambers American Legion Post #320..

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Harlan was born March 27, 1924, at Scribner to Alfred and Laura (Kleeman) Dierking. He served in the United State Marine Corp during World War II. Harlan was married to Faye White on Oct. 6, 1946, in Omaha.

He was a member of the Chambers American Legion Post #320 and a Holt County Supervisor for about 30 years.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Faye; his daughter, Cindy Hild and husband, Bruce of Neligh; three grandchildren, Brent Hild and wife, Laura of Boston, MA, Tara Hild of Lincoln and Kevin Hild of Neligh; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Burnita Wilson; and one nephew.
