Eagles End Regular Season With Win Over Battle Creek

The O'Neill Eagles traveled to Battle Creek on Friday, Feb. 18 to trounced the Braves 61-48.

The Eagles took charge early giving themselves a 23-13 lead at the end of the first. The Braves got their offense going in the second putting 11 points on the board but trailed 37-24 at the half.

The third period saw the Eagles put up 14 points and hold the Braves to eight. In the fourth the Braves made a mad rush to catch up putting up 16 points to the Eagles 10 but the Braves couldn't close the 13 point gap.

Landon Classen and Drew Morrow both scored 20 plus points with Classen hitting 23 and Morrow 22.

Classen had four of 10 for 40 percent in three pointers and three of six in two pointers for 50 percent. He hit five of seven from the charity stripe for 71 percent and had four rebounds and two steals; Morrow had three of nine from the three point range for 33 percent and six of eight in two pointers for 75 percent, Morrow also had three rebounds; Keaton Wattier 15 points and 15 rebounds; and Brady Sidak one point and two rebounds.

The win over the Braves gives the Eagles an 18-5 regular season record. The Eagles will advance to sub-district action.
