Clay Johnson Jr.

Clay Johnson Jr., age 89, of O'Neill, passed away early Sunday morning, March 3, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter in O'Neill.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. There will be no visitation.

Inurnment will be in the West Willowdale Cemetery north of Neligh.

Clay was born nine miles north of Neligh on Sept. 2, 1923, to Clay and Elsie (Duncan) Johnson, Sr. He graduated from O'Neill High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from Oct. 5, 1943 to Nov. 12, 1945.

Clay was a master watchmaker and clockmaker. He was a member of the O'Neill United Methodist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his wife Margaret of O'Neill; three children: Harold Johnson and wife Cathy of Wichita, KS, Jim Johnson and Fay Johnson, both of Oakdale and several grandchildren.

Clay was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Roy Johnson and one sister Phyllis Loy.

Memorials may be made to AseraCare Hospice.
