The O'Neill High School Cross Country Team turned in a strong performance at the Boone Central Invitational, which hosted 15 schools for a highly competitive meet. The Eagle boys captured the runner-up trophy behind several standout finishes, while the girls placed sixth overall in a deep field.

On the boys' side, O'Neill placed four runners in the medals. Max Berg led the way with a 4th-place finish, followed closely by Alonso Hernandez in 6th. Paul Fonseca earned 14th, while Tomas Arciniega rounded out the medal winners in 19th. The team's depth and consistency across the lineup secured the boys'  runner-up trophy.

The O'Neill girls were paced by Kiarra Kennedy, who ran an outstanding race to place 4th individually and claim a medal. Rounding out the Eagles' top six were Taya Dickau in 34th, Lynn Miner 36th, Mollie Corkle 40th, Emma Bowder 57th, and Hailey Romesser 69th, helping the team to a 6th-place overall finish.

In the junior high division, the Eagle girls finished 8th, while the junior high boys placed 5th overall. Kyler Wettlaufer highlighted the effort with an impressive 3rd-place finish to bring home a medal.

Due to technical issues at the meet, full team and individual results are still pending. Nonetheless, O'Neill's performances showed depth, talent, and determination as the team continues to build momentum for the rest of the season.
