Lady Cards Take 16 Point Win Over CWC

The St. Mary's Lady Cards advanced to the semi-finals of the 2012 NVC Tournament after a 49-33 win over CWC in O'Neill on Tuesday evening.  

The Renegades played a tough game against the Cards going into the locker room at the half with a 12 point deficit. The Renegades played hard but couldn't stop the Cardinal offense led by Brooke Bauer racking up 17 points on the night. Top scorers for the Cards were Brooke Bauer with 17 points and 10 rebounds, MacKenzie Wecker with seven points and three rebounds and two steals, Jessi Pongratz with seven points and eight rebounds, Justine Blumenstock with six points and nine rebounds and Bridget Schneider with five points and two rebounds.

Leading the Lady Renegades were Kortney Kasselder with seven points and three rebounds followed by Marissa Koenig with six points and eight rebounds, Jordan Wietzki with five points and six rebounds, Shelby Kasselder with four points and four rebounds and Abby Reiman with four points and two rebounds.

The Cards will play Ewing on Thursday, Feb. 2  in Verdigre at 6:15 p.m.
