O'Neill Eagles Run at Bloomfield Invite

Last week the O'Neill Eagles competed at the Bloomfield Invitational.  The meet consisted of a boys junior varsity, girls varsity and a boys varsity race.

The girls placed sixth as a team. Medaling for the team was Alejandra Vergara 20th and Tasha Lechtenberg 22nd.  Other varsity runners were Brandi Walters 36th, Lizzie Price 51st, Miranda Pribil 78th, and Catrina Spangler 87th.  The team scored 108 points.

In the boys race the O'Neill Eagles placed fifth.  The Eagles came away with three medalists.  Kyle Pardun placed ninth, Humberto Costilla 21st, and Nate Gotschall 24th.  Running in the fourth, fifth and sixth varsity spots were Joseph Gillham 31st, Shea Lueninghoener 38th, and Blake Walters 42nd.

In the reserve race Kyle Fowler placed third among 32 competitors.

"I know that we will run our strongest race at districts," said Coach Hilker.

On Thursday the O'Neill Eagles will compete at Norfolk.  Eleven teams will come to see who will be the top three teams and 15 individuals to compete at the state meet in Kearney. The girls race will be at 4:00 p.m. and boys at 4:30 p.m.
