Cardinals Win Over Cougars 77-57

The St. Mary's boys varsity improved their record to 3-0 with a 77-57 victory over the ever improving Niobrara-Verdigre Cougars. The Cardinals were able to take a 41-28 half time lead and maintain and improve on that spread through out the second half. Sophomore Steven LaPointe had a fine 36 point performance for the Cougars.

The Cardinals placed two men in double figures led by junior Adam Moon with 32 points while senior Ty Eiler added 15 tallies. Seniors Connor Connot and Aaron Ohri added nine and eight points respectively. The Cards out rebounded the Cougars 42-18 with 20 of the boards being on the offensive end of the floor. Moon led the rebounding with 15 boards followed by Ohri with 11 and Connot with seven. Eiler and Kyle Pardun led the assists totals with five and three respectively. Moon led the defense with four steals and three blocked shots. 

The Cardinals go on the road this week as they visited the Neligh - Oakdale Warriors on Tuesday and then to Bassett on Friday to play the North Central Knights. The ball games with Hartington High School scheduled for last Friday, Dec. 7 have been moved to Tuesday Jan. 8 at St. Mary's.
