West Boyd Downs Ewing In NVC Action

West Boyd advanced on into the NVC semi-finals with a 61-34 win over Ewing at St. Mary's on Tuesday night.  The Tigers were short-handed due to injuries and sickness but were able to hang close in the first half and trailed 22-17 going into the halftime break, but the Spartans exploded behind the arc in the second half to pull away from the Tigers.  The Tigers were led by 10 points from Blake Cunningham and seven points from Damian Summers.  Robert Nordby had six points and seven rebounds.

"I was proud of how our team battled early on in this ballgame despite missing players due to injuries and sickness.  We just ran out of gas after halftime and West Boyd played really well on both offense and defense in the second half.  We will have to regroup and get ready for our final regular season games and post-season play," said Coach Appleby.
