Tigers Take Third In Clearwater Tournament


The Ewing Tiger's boys basketball team took third place in the Clearwater Holiday Tournament over the Christmas break.  The Tigers dropped their first round game to CWC 35-55 and then downed Elkhorn Valley 47-43 to take home the third place trophy.  

The Tigers were led in the CWC game with 12 points and eight rebounds from Robert Nordby and 11 points from Jake Walton. Tad Fry chipped in with eight points. The Tigers had trouble in the second and fourth quarters in this one as CWC was able to avenge an earlier season loss to the Tigers.

The consolation game was back and forth all game long. The Tigers' offense came alive in the second half to come away with the 47-43 victory to move the Tigers to 4-5 on the season. Robert Nordby led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Tad Fry had five points and 13 rebounds. Jake Walton had 12 points and Ben Ramold had eight.  Ramold also dished out six assists.
