STUART — Stuart Public High School is preparing for its upcoming homecoming celebration to be held Sept. 22-26. 

Students and staff will kickoff homecoming week with a community potluck party at 5 p.m. Sunday at the gymnasium. Grilled hotdogs, tableware and drinks will be provided. If attending, please bring a salad or dessert to share and come dressed in your Bronco attire. 

At approximately 6 p.m., the pep rally will begin in the gym. Following the pep rally, the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.

The queen and king candidates for this year are Reaghan Engel, daughter of Jake and Nicky Engel and Kelly and Charity Myers; Lainey Paxton, daughter of Darrin and Sharon Paxton; Madison Stracke, daughter of Mike Stracke and the late Jenny Stracke; Morgan Wallinger, daughter of Randy and Kim Wallinger; Alex Jarecke, son of Justin and Holly Jarecke and Jeff and Amber Skrdla; Colton Kaup, son of Matt and Rachel Kaup; Bradly Miksch, son of Randy and Rhonda Miksch; Grant Pease, son of Zane and Shannon Pease; Logan Reynolds, son of Nathan and Ashli Dvorak  and Jennifer Reynolds; and Tyler Steinhauser, son of Casey and Jenn Steinhauser.

Students, faculty and staff at Stuart Public School will celebrate homecoming with daily dress-up days. Monday will be Career Day, Tuesday is Texas Day, Beach Day will be on Wednesday and Thursday will be Holiday. 

Athletic events for the week will be junior high action at home Monday against Boyd County with volleyball at 3:30 p.m. and football at 5 p.m. Tuesday the Lady Broncos will travel to Bartlett for volleyball action at 5 p.m. and the cross country team will travel to Creighton competing at 4 p.m. Thursday. 

The Stuart Broncos football team will be taking on the O'Neill St. Mary's Cardinals at 7 p.m. Friday.
