Sedlacek To Intern For Economic Development

Mar 6, 2024 (0)

Holt County Economic Development and the Nebraska Community Foundation are thrilled to introduce and welcome Ally Sedlacek as our Hometown Intern for the summer of 2024!

Having Ally join our team is truly exciting, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing her achievements. Ally, a junior at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, is a Pre-Law student with double majors in Political Science and Journalism.

A Hometown Intern is a current college student who has completed at least one year of schooling and lives at home for the summer.

Hometown Interns work with local NCF affiliated funds on a variety of projects tailored to their community and personal interests and skillsets. While projects will vary from one Hometown Intern to another, NCF will provide numerous opportunities for interns to connect throughout the summer to give them space to learn from each other, share ideas and foster appreciation for their hometowns while gaining valuable job experience.

Some past projects of Hometown Interns include:

• Documenting local history and storytelling

• Tourism, eco-tourism, arts and culture tourism, agri-tourism

• Working alongside early education programs to develop and lead enrichment projects for local youth

• Interviewing local entrepreneurs and highlighting their innovations

• Developing branding, graphic design or web-based projects

• Event planning

• Facilitating conversations about the future of Greater Nebraska
