The Mid States Conference Track & Field Invitational delivered a thrilling day of competition, showcasing strong performances from athletes across both the boys' and girls' divisions.

The girls' team placed 5th, and the boys' team 6th respectively.

On the track, Maddie Heiss had an impressive showing in the sprints, placing 4th in the 100-meter dash and taking home 3rd in the 200-meter dash. In the 400-meter dash final, Mollie Corkle secured a 6th place finish for the girls' team.

Pryor Mathews was a standout in the hurdles, sweeping both the 110-meter-high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, securing first place finishes in both events.

In the relays, the boys 4x100-meter team of Porter Mathews, Pryor Mathews, Ryker Sudbeck, and Ryan Owen earned a 3rd place finish, while the girls 4x100-meter relay team of Tenzlie Sorensen, Maddie Heiss, Serena Chavez, and Hailey Fick placed 6th. The boys 4x400-meter relay, consisting of Colten Shoemaker, Paul Fonseca, Trevor Alder, and Nate Brown, finished 5th. The girls 4x800-meter relay team—Mollie Corkle, Hannah Hilker, Taya Dickau, and Ashley Sidak—also claimed a 5th place finish. The boys' team of Tomas Arcineiga, Wade Krysl, Brock Latzel, and Nate Brown placed 6th.

In the field events, Mariah Kallhoff earned 2nd place in the girls shot put, while Calli Tomjack placed 6th in the high jump. Brook Cahoy emerged victorious in the girls pole vault, and Grady Welke placed 5th in the boy's pole vault.

In jumping events, Maddie Heiss added to her medal count with a 2nd place finish in the girls long jump, and Olivia Young took 5th. On the boys' side, Porter Mathews claimed 4th place in the long jump. Serena Chavez secured 4th place in the girls triple jump, rounding out an impressive day for the team.

The invitational proved to be a successful meet, with multiple athletes earning top finishes and setting the stage for a strong postseason ahead.

O'Neill Public Schools lastly wants to thank the teachers, students, and patrons of O'Neill who helped run not only the conference meet last weekend, but the all the competitions hosted by Eagle Track & Field throughout the season they were successful because of your assistance.
