Nebraska Community Foundation recently welcomed Mike Peterson to its team of Affiliated Fund Development Coordinators, further bolstering its talented team of professionals committed to building stronger communities and a Greater Nebraska. As the Affiliated Fund Development Coordinator for North Central Nebraska, Peterson will work closely with community-based affiliated funds in Holt, Wheeler, Valley, Greeley, Brown, Rock, Garfield, Loup, and Boyd counties as volunteers uncover new ways to unleash their places' unique community assets. Peterson has 36 years of experience working with youth, including more than 25 years as the Business, Marketing, Management and Information Technology teacher at O'Neill High School. While an instructor at OHS, he helped launch Eagle Eye Broadcasting, which is a student-led communications activity that broadcasts live events and daily updates using industry standard equipment. Most recently, he was the Project Manager for Holt County Economic Development, an NCF affiliated fund that supports the Holt County Economic Development Agency in its mission to foster, promote, encourage, develop, research, analyze and increase the knowledge, appreciation and practice of economic development and to help preserve and enhance the greater Holt County community's growth. Peterson obtained a bachelor's degree in business education from Western New Mexico University and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Doane University.
