Bristow — Kenneth Delbert Bruegman, 80, of Bristow, died Friday, April 24, 2026 at the Creighton Care Center in Creighton.

Combined memorial visitation will be held for Kenneth and his wife Sharon Bruegman, who died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024 at the Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Bristow Community Hall in Bristow 

Combined memorial services will be held for Kenneth at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the community hall in Bristow. Fr. Bernard Starman will officiate.

Burial will be in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in Lynch with military rites provided by the Bristow American Legion Post 76.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth was born Aug. 4, 1945 in Omaha, to Frank and Lois “Lyons” Bruegman.  He attended grade school in Bristow before attending school at Spencer High School.  Ken graduated from Spencer High School in 1963.  

After high school, Ken enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Beeville, Texas.  While Ken was in the Navy, he worked on jet engines and also worked on World War 2 planes.

Ken met his future wife Sharon Courtney while she was working at Sandberg Beauty Shop in Spencer. They were married on July 6, 1968 in Lynch. When Ken was honorably discharged from the Navy the couple moved to a farm southeast of Bristow before making their home in Bristow.  To this union two children were born Sharla and Perry.

He worked various jobs throughout his life, working for Wheeler Construction, Farmers Union Co-op in Bristow. He owned and operated Ken's Station. Ken drove truck for Mike Klasna and dealt black jack at the Fort Randall Casino before driving truck for George Pfeifer Trucking in Spencer.

Ken was a member of the Bristow American Legion Post 76 where he served as Post Commander for many years.

Ken is survived by his two children Sharla (Mike) Snodgrass of Neligh and Perry Bruegman of Bristow; seven grandchildren Derek Snodgrass, Colby Snodgrass, Kristen (Zach) Wright, Stephanie (Kent) Miller, James McAllister, Danika Hansen and Charle Dahlberg; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Marvene Courtney; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lois Bruegman, his wife Sharon Bruegman in 2024, father- and mother-in-law Charles and Edna Courtney, one daughter-in-law Sheryl Bruegman in 2026,  sister- and brother-in-law Mary (Clarence) Kolund and two brothers-in-law Richard Courtney and Robert Courtney.
