Jean (Holz) Truman, 90, of O'Neill, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 at Parkside Manor in Stuart. Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at Biglin's Mortuary with a parish rosary. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Honorary pallbearers were all of Jean's grandchildren. Burial wase in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Schools in O'Neill in Jean's name. Jean was born with her twin brother Gerald on May 29, 1933 to Leon and Nancy (Jeffrey) Fahrenholz in Stanton County. She had one other sister Eleanor. The family moved from the Stanton area to a farm southeast of Chambers. Jean attended grade school in rural Chambers before attending St. Mary's Academy, graduating in 1952. Jean married Francis “Fritz” Holz on June 16, 1952 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. She was a homemaker, then later worked at the Legion Club Steak House as a waitress for 22 years. Fritz passed away on April 11, 1996. Jean then married John (Del) Truman in O'Neill. He passed away in 2012. Jean was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Jean is survived by her five children Vicki (Tom) Earley of O'Neill, Carolyn (Roy) Carr of Omaha, Russ (Joanie) Holz of Blair, Terry (Julie) Holz of Omaha and Alan Holz of O'Neill; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Eleanor, her twin brother Gerald, her husband Fritz, an infant daughter, one daughter Connie and husband Del.
