Eagles Fall To Crofton

Dec 27, 2023 (0)

The O'Neill Eagle girls had one last game to play before taking a short Christmas break. They hosted the Crofton Warriors last week on Tuesday, Dec. 19 and lost 65-32.

Quarter one was a great start for the Eagles, beating out the Warriors 10-9. The next brought the Eagles down however, when they fell 12-5. Now behind by six points, the Eagles were disadvantaged, but they still had a shot.

Quarter three sky rocketed the Warriors above the Eagles when they shot up 22 points while holding the Eagles to just nine. The final quarter was much of the same, with the Eagles trailing only further behind their competition. In the end, the final score was 65-32 despite a strong first quarter from the Eagles.

Hannah Hilker scored highest with 14 points, shooting three of four three-pointers for 75 percent and two of seven two-pointers for 29 percent. Hilker also had one rebound; Lauryn Dusatko had five points, nine rebounds and two steals; Olivia Young five points and two rebounds; Autumn Hilker four points; Presley Heiss two points, seven rebounds and two steals; Rylee Selby two points and two rebounds; and Ashley Sidak and Serena Chavez both one rebound.
