Eagles Down Schuyler 40-14

The O'Neill Eagle football team claimed their first victory of the season on Friday, Sept. 1 against Schuyler. This game was a wash for the Eagles, downing their opponent 40-14.

The Eagles had a solid opening quarter, scoring seven and leaving the Warriors with nothing. Quarter two pretty much cemented the Eagle win, taking a 21 point advantage and still holding the Warriors to 0. 

Quarter  three added further injury to the Warriors chance of victory, still putting up 0 while the Eagles gained 6. The final quarter was a great comeback for Schuyler, scoring eight points over their opponent. This came much too late into the game however, and it was an easy victory to the Eagles.

Brady Eichelberger led with nine carries for 110 yards, one touchdown and three tackles; Porter Mathews six carries for 78 yards and five tackles; Drew Morrow five carries for 30 yards and one touchdown; Grady Welke five carries for six yards and four tackles; Oliver Schluns three carries for eight yards and one tackle; Braxen Eichelberger three carries for six yards; Westen Kohl one carry for 49 yards and one touchdown; Turner Heiss two touchdowns and two tackles; Tucker Shabram five tackles; Reese Grosch four tackles; Cort Chohon and Noah Manchester three tackles; Dominic Hamilton, Maddox Hammerlun, Pryor Mathews, Hadley Wrede and Ian Yates all two tackles each; Jackson Larsen, Colton Osborne, Colten Shoemaker, Justin Sickels, Braxen Sorensen all one tackle each.

The Eagles will next face the West Holt Huskies in home game on Friday, Sept. 8. Both teams currently hold a one win to one loss score this season.
