Last Tuesday the O'Neill Eagles hosted the Wagner Red Raiders and sent them back to South Dakota with a loss by defeating them 55-47.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead to go up 11-5 after the first quarter and they never looked back.  Each Wagner run was met head on as the Eagles kept the game out of reach, never letting the game get to within five points.  "We did not play our best basketball tonight but we did just enough to get the "W" and I am proud of the way we are playing as a team.  It's nights like these that separate a divided team from the ones that work well together and find ways to win even when some things are not going as planned," commented Coach Kallhoff.  It also helped that the Eagles were nearly perfect from the charity strip by going 16-18 for a season high 89%.  Leading the Eagles on the night was Jordyn Johnson, who recorded his fifth straight double-double, with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Derrick Hostert also had a good night as he finished some great looks near the hoop to drop in 13 points.  Brock Schueth also ended the night in double digits with 10 to go along with his team high three assists.  Everyone is finding their roles at just the right time for the Eagles, so come watch as they travel to West Holt to take on the cross-county rival Huskies in Atkinson tonight, Thursday.
